I'm sorry in advance I really don't have much to say this week... the majority of our time was spent taking care of our little bug problem.
Bed bugs are the worst. Seriously. I won't bore you with the extermination process, but it was awful and time consuming. :(
Sister Johnson and Sister Clark "Debedbugging" the Apartment |
Poor sister Johnson, her last full week was filled with all that nonsense. But we got her things all cleaned up so she won't take any home with her. :)
Speaking of my new missionary, I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to try to convince her that the tornado siren alarm that tests every Saturday at 12 is a real tornado.
Just kidding. But it would be kinda funny.
But tornadoes scare me to death nowadays, so maybe not. :D
I'm so excited though. I feel like I'm going to learn so, SO much from this experience. I just love her already, honestly. I hope I can help her adjust - it's probably the biggest trial to get past when you come out on a mission. I'm so excited for her - this area is a great place to start. The ward is just going to bring her right in and love her, I just know it.
Sister Johnson is definitely a trunkymctrunkmeister. She goes back and forth a lot - sometimes she just wants to go home, and sometimes she never wants to go home! I can see it. We've had fun, though. We're making memories. :) I love her so much! She's been such a great example to me of humility and diligence. I'm grateful that on the days I feel discouraged, she still says, "Let's go to work." She's helped me prepare a lot to be a trainer.
I'm sorry this update is so lame! We didn't even have church this week because it was cancelled because we had a WHOLE INCH OF SNOW, guys. We can't POSSIBLY drive in that sort of crazy weather! (Oh man it's ridiculous, hahaha)
I rediscovered a powerful scripture in D&C this week: Section 29 vs 4 says: "Verily, I say unto you that ye are chosen out of the world to declare my gospel with the sound of rejoicing, as with the voice of a trump."
We have ALL been set apart at baptism to share the gospel with all the world. You are literally set apart from the world, asked to live a higher standard of living in return for bounteous blessings.
Christ follows with this promise in vs 5: "Lift up your hearts, and be glad, for I AM IN YOUR MIDST, and am your advocate with the Father; and it is His good will to give you the kingdom."
We aren't alone in His work! God wants us to be happy - that's why He's asked us to be a part of it.
I love you all to pieces. Be excited - I'll have lots of adventures and miracles to share next week. :)
Love, Sister Clark
