Oh, my.

Dear Readers,

I have just finished Mockingjay.
I won't give spoilers, but I cried a lot.

If you're fine with spoilers, and you want to know EXACTLY why I am in love with Finnick Odair, then read this guest post by Sara at Busy Bee Lauren. She sums it up perfectly. And this being said, as Finnick in the movie? Hunter Parrish was love at first sight for me. Honestly.

(please excuse me while I drool and/or faint.)

Besides the fact that he's flippin' GORGEOUS, he's from District 4. Doesn't he look so ocean-y? I mean, look at those eyes!

-sighs- Oh, Finnick Odair. If I were to convince you that I'm completely mad, would you love me forever?

Like, to a man?

Sometimes I think I'm lazy because I want to be a stay-at-home mom.
Not that I need to worry about that quite yet, see, but honestly. Those days when I'm working and I just think, "Gee . . . It would be nice to stay at home with my own little twerps instead of chasing around somebody else's."

Hm, that sounded rude.
Let me tell you, I LOVE teaching. I love it. So flippin' much.
Maybe . . . maybe I just am feeling the need to have someone to take care of. Someones to take care of, to chase around, that are mine and steal my heart away forever, you know?

-sighs-
'Course, to get there, that means I have to get married first.
Good heavens.
Get married?
Like, to a man?
Forever?

Not that I'm not a committed person. I consider myself extremely loyal.
But right now? It's hard to imagine that I could find anyone that would or could love me exactly for who I am.
I suppose I know I'll find "the one" someday, but it feels sort of impossible right now, like I'm some sort of hopeless case.

The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind

So . . . I basically love my job.
Not that it isn't really, really hard.
But my goodness, these kids are fantastic.
They're super stars! All of them are so special. :)

On Monday and Tuesday, I had two amazing teachers come in to help me. They are truly spectacular. And intimidating. But spectacularly special. :) They helped me out a lot, and freaked me out a lot with all the things I have to do.

But today, I went the day by myself. I did it all by myself! (Well, mostly. The kids helped me out A LOT.) And I felt like I did so much better, with the help of those to fabulous ladies and my kids (I think I felt less nervous and made less mistakes when I was by myself, honestly).

(And they're artists. :) I have the best students ever.)

So we're getting ready to start the upper-grade math class (who ever thought I'd end up teaching math? I always thought math teachers were evil. Hmmm . . . ) and one of my students says, "How come you're so pretty and you're not married?"

I know! It was the sweetest thing of my life! And of course I had to let them know that I'm going on a date Saturday . . . (Of course a chorus of "oooohhh!"'s followed)

About that.
Let's call him Bil.
(can you guess the acronym? Betcha can't!)

Ever been on a blind date? Cause I sure haven't. He called me yesterday and left me a message that said something about how much he enjoyed my answering machine. :) Funny, my friend (let's call him Elder) (who I'm going out with next Tuesday) said he quite enjoyed it, too.

Ah. I must be cute.
How fantastic.

Are you sick of my boys with interesting pseudonames? I hope not, because here's one more.

The beautiful man I'll name Mr. O'Reilly.
Aye, Mr. O'Reilly.
Don't worry, I did a ring check two days ago.
I'm going to double check tomorrow.
(Sure hope he's not engaged or anything, cause golly gee.)

That's all for now.

P.S. Simon & Garfunkel. Peter, Paul and Mary.
Gotta love the classics, man.

Snickerdoodle to you too!

And I, the apron donner,
concoct tasty meals
and smile at young gents,
as they melt over
my snickerdoodle heart
before taking a knee
with a simple ring
and promising
forever and a farm.

Then I say, "no thanks,"
and hand over the cookies.

Forever's a given,
the farm ain't important,
and what sort of good comes
of promises from cookies?

(fine)

I know, not my poetry blog and not my best piece, either.
But you get the point, right?

And guess what?
I got the job!
I'm an instructor at APA!!
I'm so flippin excited, I can't even tell you.
