Everything.

So I'm just sitting here, eating Corn Pops . . .
And realizing that I am really lame at updating my blog, lately.
Let me give you a run-down.

I'm no longer going to Snow College (for, contrary to the website, they do NOT have a harp teacher). I am, instead, planning on going to the U (or Weber, if finances don't work out the way I'd like them to). I am auditioning for Weber on Friday, and U of U on Saturday.

And I am so scared.

I did perform for all the youth in my home ward yesterday, and felt pretty great about that. The performance went well, and it was very good practice to perform for people.

Speaking of my home ward, I'm going back.
As great as the single's ward is, it's much too . . . awkward. Not that I don't appreciate awkwardness. I love awkwardness. It's just too much. Home I go!

Also, I've decided that I'm going to run away to the mountains next weekend. With my auditions over, I think I need to get away for awhile.

I suppose that's all for now. Except wait! Here's this:

This song is beautiful and brilliant. Regina Spektor, people.
The end.

Well, that was embarrassing.

So, funny story.
Yesterday, for YSA FHE, we went to Classic Skating. Super cool, right? Right. It was fun.
So when Spencer and I got tired of skating, and wore out our mad people watching skills, we decided to go on those . . . what are they called? Bouncy things? Whatever. The inflatable stuff you climb and slide and jump on. :) And holy crow, we had so much fun. Honestly.
We acted like we were five and it was great.
So here's the funny part.
He was right in the middle of kissing me, and I was all happy and great and everything, and then I decided to burst out laughing.
And I spit all over Spencer's face.
And mouth.
Gross.
Gahh . . . sorry.
But I'm still cute, right? Ish? Cute-ish?

This is on Sunday, ps. We made delicious cookies.
And oh goodness, when this man came into my house looking so snazzy in a suit and tie?
I'm soooper jealous of his good looks. Seriously.
It's fine.

Nativity . . . singles ward style?

Seriously, so freaking funny.
These guys kill me.

(sorry about the quality. I forgot my camera. dumb.)

Why yes, the two bearded shepherds are gals.
And by the way, the wise men came in like Egyptians.

So, ladies and gentlemen, we played a little "White Elephanting" (when I say little, I mean there were like 60 of us. Seriously.) and I brought in a sweet Buddha Frog and some canned pumpkin.

(sorta like this dude, but not a real statue. Ross is seriously THE best place for White elephant gifts)

But you see, from the moment it was opened, I had my heart set on the beautiful "OH FUDGE!" shirt from "A Christmas Story" (which, ironically, I really REALLY don't like that movie. But this shirt? Yes please.)

Obviously . . . I got it. It took some serious bartering skills (plus selling a few fingers and toes) to get it, but it's mine!

What's that you say? You say I look sexy?
Why yes.
Yes I do.

Who knew I could be so emotional?

Ya'll HAVE to watch this video.
I'm not even joking when I say that it made me cry.
Cause it made me cry.
(Seriously.)

And you know what else?
Peeta and Gale?
Oh my heck, guys.
I can't fight this feeling any longer . . .

p.s. I had a lovely potato day with Jeni B. :) Thanksgiving for the singles ward!

p.p.s. So I go into the singles ward and sign up to have my records transferred, and I go home with 2 callings and a musical number in three weeks . . . no waiting around for me!

Stockings for Sisters

Oh what a beautiful morning,
Oh what a beautiful day!

This morning, I went to a relief society activity that was beautiful and brilliant and all sorts of fun. :) Wrapping presents and packing them in stockings with some lovely ladies!

The stockings are for foreign sister missionaries in the Salt Lake Temple Square mission, many of whom will not get any presents from home. Did you know it can cost $200 just to send a package from far away? Just to send it! Crazy, right? So we wrapped presents that had scriptures on the wrapping, pertaining (somewhat) to the gift inside. It was fantastic!

With many hands, we made light work, and I loved socializing with some of the girls in my ward.

We had so many stockings! It was a beautiful sight. :)

p.s. Date tonight! Super excited/nervous. :) Wish me luck!

We're all just a bunch of kids.

This morning at APA was fantastic!
I ended up teaching the whole reading lesson, and you know?
I did a pretty dang great job. :)

I have an observation tomorrow by the head honchos, and then I'll be going from a visitor to an instructor in no time.

(Sorry about the awful blurriness of this photo. Camera phones, y'know?)

I love those kids. I'm sad that I'll have to have a new group of students, but I know I'll come to love them just as much. They're absolutely darling.

I promise I'll get my camera back soon. Life is a sad, dreary thing without it.

And guess what?
Six hours. Of church.
It's cause I'm extra righteous. (ha)
But really, it's because I'm ward hopping.
I went to my home ward, ate a hot pocket (it was fast Sunday. I know. I just always forget! I'll fast next Sunday, promise!!) and rushed off to single's ward.
(Mom is definitely forcing me to go, but maybe it's not such a bad thing?)
I met some new people, including a lovely lady named Jeni B. She totally understands my unwillingness to go to single's ward, but has been there for a year and is loving it!

I think Jeni B. and I will be great friends.

Dear Singles Ward,

I like you.
Really, I do.

You're filled with great people that have wonderful goals and ambitions, and that are great members of the church!

But . . . you and me?
I dunno if this is really going to work out.

You see, S.W. (can I call you that?), as much as I love the idea of going to church and getting hit on every week, it's just not my style.

Maybe I'll come back in a few weeks, when I've warmed up to the idea.
In the meanwhile, don't be sad.
It's not you.
It's me.

alyssa kaylee
